A Weekend Jaunt to Rouen

Last year, I had a couple of hours to kill in Rouen, with suitcases in tow after a week-long excursion to the UK, so I was happy to be able to go back this year and experience the city properly. I have a friend from college who is currently an assistant there, whom welcomed me for the weekend.

The weather was simply gorgeous, which gave me ample time to drool over the gorgeous Norman architecture. Over the course of two days, I got to visit an old friend from Valenciennes, enjoy sweeping views of the city, visit a Picasso exhibit at Palais des Beaux Arts, experience Rouen’s nightlife, and picnic on the Seine.

Thank you to my friend, Laith, and his lovely friends for making me feel so welcome this weekend!

  1. It sounds like the perfect weekend! I love the architecture and all the green spaces in your photos. For some reason, I never realized that Rouen was so close to Paris (must look at maps more often.)

Let me know what you think!
