Celebrating Love in Miami, Florida

One of my best friends from college, Katharine, tied the knot with the love of her life, Ian, in North Miami, Florida, last weekend. I was honored to have been asked to stand up in the wedding as a bridesmaid, along with three other amazing women and four equally amazing gents. My trip to Miami included celebrating love, experiencing Miami nightlife, and relaxing on the beach and at the pool. Our hotel, located in Sunny Isles, had beach access and a great ocean-view, as well as our own private pool. The lovely couple was married in a gorgeous Spanish Monastery in North Miami, and the rehearsal dinner took place in a swanky, hotel/restaurant right downtown.

On my last full day in Miami, a friend of a friend picked me up and ventured down to the Hollywood boardwalk, which is a great place to eat, drink, shop, bike, and swim! (Thanks, Chelsea!)

Unfortunately, I was low on funds and without a car during this trip, so I didn’t get to do as much site seeing or clubbing as I normally would. (I would have loved to venture to the Keys or explore the swamps of the Everglades.) Alas, next time! A huge congrats and a life of happiness to Katharine and Ian!

Have you ever traveled to Miami or a destination wedding?

Bisous,

Dana

  1. I’ve had to travel pretty far for the weddings I’ve been to. Two in France, one in North Carolina (which I road tripped all the way down to from NY!), and one this past December right after Christmas which took place in Potsdam, NY. This is part of the NY state snow belt and is about a half hour away from the Canadian border. It’s so far north that the area is called the North Country. There was a lot of snow on the ground (there was an ice storm the week before the wedding), it was very cold, and it was about a 6-7 hour drive from my house! I was a bridesmaid too, it was a pretty low-key. It was nice–just a bit far to travel to right after the Christmas holidays!

    1. Weddings are definitely a great excuse to travel if you can fit in some activities around the festivities!! I went to a wedding in France last year too and had a blast!

Let me know what you think!
