Reverse Culture Shock

It has been almost 4 months since my return to the United States. I am now back at school and enjoying living in my sorority house. I will not deny, however, that the reverse culture shock coming home from France was almost unbearable at times. Upon returning to the United States, I immediately jumped back into reality, working, hanging out with my friends– I was busy. However, my mind was somewhere else– I was missing my old life. I came back a different person, but everyone and everything was still the same. And although that was no one’s fault, it was a hard concept to grasp.

Overall I am excited to see where my life will lead now. I am certain that I have not seen the end of France. Next summer there is a wonderful opportunity for me awaiting. I have applied for a program in Japan. If I am accepted, they will pay for me to go to Japan and teach English for 6 weeks. Have I mentioned that this is what I want to do? I want to teach English–in France! After I graduate, I plan to apply for this Teaching Assistant Program: I can’t wait!

A la prochaine!
