My adventure to France begins in only 73 days! I just had orientation this past Saturday, and it really got me pumped! There are nine of us total in our group. Our flight leaves on 21 January 2010 @ approximately 6:30 PM, and we arrive in Paris on 22 January around 11:30 am! Once in Paris, we will spend 5 days touring and exploring. The Paris part of our tour is a one-credit class–we have to write a paper at the end. I am so excited to return to Paris! I am excited to see all the things I saw once before, as well as a few things I didn’t see on my previous trip, including the Musée d’Orsay. We are also going to see a French play! That will be complicated but also exciting. After day 5, we will catch a train to Caen, which is a city in Normandy (Normandie), about 2 hours Northwest of Paris. There we will meet our host families and start orientation at the Université de Caen-Basse Normandie! Our spring break is from April 10-April 25, and I am hoping to visit my exchange student in Germany! I am also hoping to do A LOT of traveling during the weekends. My goal destinations are London, Dublin, Edinburg, Switzerland, Amsterdam, Belgium, Rome, Greece, the South of France (Nice area esp.) Germany, other areas in the UK & Ireland, Spain, and possibly Luxembourg. I know it sounds like a lot but hey, dare to dream. 🙂 This has always been my dream to study abroad. It has also been a life goal to become fluent in French. I can’t believe I am going to be able to do both. I am so incredibly lucky to have the support system I do. I have worked very hard for this opportunity and I cannot believe that I have finally been given the opportunity. I am quite nervous about not being in a French class this semester, but I know I will be able to do it. Please send me your address so I can send you all postcards! Feel free to add me on Facebook or Follow me on Twitter. Happy Holidays, everyone!
